Rear Bumper Fascia Reinforcement Replacement Pontiac

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 736267  Size: SH
  3. Remove the energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .
  4. Remove the reinforcement nuts (3).
  5. Remove the rear fascia reinforcement (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the rear fascia reinforcement (2) on the rear bumper.

  2. Object Number: 736267  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the rear fascia reinforcement nuts (3).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear fascia reinforcement nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .
  6. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 277207  Size: SH
  3. Remove the energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .
  4. Remove the reinforcement nuts.
  5. Remove the fascia reinforcement from the impact bar.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the fascia reinforcement on the rear impact bar.

  2. Object Number: 277207  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.
