Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 748082  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the wiring harness from the rear bumper impact bar.

  5. Object Number: 748083  Size: SH
  6. Remove the rear impact bar nuts from the rear impact bar.
  7. Remove the rear impact bar from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 748083  Size: SH
  1. Position the rear impact bar to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the rear impact bar nuts to the rear impact bar.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Connect the wiring harness to the rear impact bar.
  6. Install the rear energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .
  7. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
