Steering Wheel Control Switches Replacement Pontiac

Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.

  2. Object Number: 737465  Size: SH
  3. Remove the steering wheel control switch(s) from the steering wheel pad using a small flat-bladed tool.

  4. Object Number: 737466  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the steering wheel control switch(s).
  6. Remove the steering wheel control switch(s) from the steering wheel.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 737466  Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connector to the steering wheel control switch.
  2. Position the steering wheel control switch(s) to the steering wheel pad.

  3. Object Number: 737467  Size: SH
  4. Install the steering wheel control switch(s) to the steering wheel pad pressing into place until fully seated.
  5. Inspect the operation of the steering wheel control switch(s).
  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.

Steering Wheel Control Switches Replacement Oldsmobile

Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  2. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in SIR.

  3. Object Number: 737452  Size: SH
  4. Remove the screws from the steering wheel control switch.

  5. Object Number: 737447  Size: SH
  6. Remove the steering wheel control switch from the steering wheel.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the steering wheel control switch.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 737447  Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connector to the steering wheel control switch.
  2. Position the steering wheel control switch to the steering wheel.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the screws to the steering wheel control switch.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the steering wheel control switch screws to 2 N·m (19 lb in).

  6. Inspect the operation of the steering wheel control switch.
  7. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in SIR.
  8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
