Check for a worn or damaged wheel bearing. Refer to Wheel Bearings Diagnosis in Suspension General Diagnosis.

Are any of the wheel bearings worn or damaged?

Go to Step 2

Go to Step 3

Service or replace the faulty wheel bearing.

Did the vibration stop?

System OK

Go to Step 3

Check for a worn or damaged drive axle joint.

Is a drive axle joint worn or damaged?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Repair or replace the faulty drive axle joint. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Outer Joint and Boot Replacement in Wheel Drive Shafts.

Did the vibration stop?

System OK

Go to Step 5

1. Check for out of round tires. Refer to Tire and Wheel Inspection in Vibration Diagnosis and Correction.
2. Add air to or replace tires.

Did the vibration stop?

System OK

Go to Step 6

1. Check for tire unbalance. Refer to Tire and Wheel Assembly Balancing - Off Vehicle in Vibration Diagnosis and Correction.
2. Rotate or service tires.

Did the vibration stop?

System OK

Go to Step 7

Check for worn drive axle C/V joint.

Is the joint worn or damaged?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 9

Repair or replace the C/V joint.

Did the vibration stop?

System OK

Go to Step 9

1. Check for correct drive axle trim height. Refer to Trim Height Specifications in Suspension General Diagnosis.
2. Adjust trim height as necessary.

Did the vibration stop?

System OK
