Removal Procedure

Important: Do not separate the intake duct and the resonator duct joint connection. The joint is made when the intake duct is hot and shrinks over the resonator duct.

  1. Remove the left headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.

  2. Object Number: 157623  Size: SH
  3. Remove the screw (2) from the air cleaner intake duct .
  4. Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  5. Raise the vehicle.
  6. Remove the left front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  7. Remove the left front wheelhouse panels. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  8. Remove the 3 attaching fasteners (1) from the resonator .

  10. Remove the intake duct attaching nut.

  11. Object Number: 102626  Size: SH
  12. Remove the duct and resonator assembly through the wheel house opening.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the duct and the resonator assembly through the wheel house opening.

  2. Object Number: 157821  Size: MH
  3. Verify the full engagement of the resonator assembly to the air cleaner inlet.

  4. Object Number: 102619  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the duct attaching nut.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the 3 attaching fasteners (1) to the resonator .
  8. Install the left front wheelhouse panels. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  9. Install the left front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Install the screw (2) to the air cleaner intake duct .
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  13. Install the left front headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.
