J 36660-A Torque Angle Meter

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the valve rocker covers. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Left Side and Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Right Side.

  2. Object Number: 54392  Size: SH

    Important: Keep the components separated in order to install the components in the same location.

  3. Remove the rocker arm bolts.
  4. Remove the rocker arms.
  5. Important: Keep the pushrods in order in order to install the pushrods in the original position.

  6. Remove the pushrods.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 54392  Size: SH
  1. Install the pushrods in the original location.
  2. • Coat the ends of the pushrods and the bearing surfaces of the rocker arms with GM P/N 12345501 or GM P/N 88862586 (Canadian P/N 992704 or Canadian P/N 88862586) or the equivalent.
    • The intake pushrods are identified with yellow stripes and are 5 3/4 inches long.
    • Exhaust pushrods are identified with green stripes and are 6 inches long.
    • Ensure that the pushrods seat in the lifter.
  3. Install the rocker arms.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the rocker arm bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Use the J 36660-A to tighten the valve rocker arm bolts to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).

  7. Install the valve rocker covers. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Left Side and Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Right Side.
