Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 181868  Size: SH

    Caution: To help avoid personal injury or damage to the vehicle, a bent, cracked, or damaged fan blade or housing should always be replaced.

  1. Remove the bolt which retains the A/C line to the A/C line bracket.
  2. Remove air deflector shield.
  3. Remove electrical harness from retainers.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  5. Remove the 4 upper fan bolts.
  6. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  7. Remove lower closeout panel.
  8. Remove the 4 lower fan bolts.
  9. Remove the fan from the shroud.
  10. Remove the fan shroud from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fan shroud.
  2. Install the fan to the shroud.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the lower fan bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the lower closeout panel.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Install the upper fan bolts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  10. Connect the electrical connectors.
  11. Install air deflector shield.
  12. Install bolt to retain A/C line bracket.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
