Cause

Action

The clearance between the holes in support or the housing and the pivot pin diameter is excessive.

Inspect for the following conditions:

    • The holes in the support are out of round.
    • The housing is damaged.
    • The pivot pin is not seated correctly.

The joint preload spring is broken or missing.

Replace the joint preload spring.

The upper bearing is not seated in the housing.

Seat the bearing in the housing.

The upper bearing inner race seal is missing.

Replace the inner race seal.

The support screws are loose.

Tighten the support screws to the specified torque. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .
