2004 and Prior Light Duty Cars and Trucks Equipped with 4L60E or 4L65E Automatic Transmission. Subject is stripped reaction sun shell repairs at less than 25,000 miles. When repairing a transmission with a reaction sun shell that has stripped splines at 25,000 miles or less, be sure to also replace the reaction sun gear (item 673) and the reaction carrier shaft (item 666). Tooth finish of the sun gear and run-out of the reaction shaft are both factors that effect sun shell spline life.
