Exhaust Pipe Replacement Front

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 236579  Size: SH
  1. Remove the nuts from the turbocharger.
  2. Remove the clamp from the flexible pipe.

  3. Object Number: 236578  Size: SH
  4. Remove the clamp from the transmission bracket.
  5. Remove the front exhaust pipe.
  6. Inspect all of the components for the following conditions:
  7. • Cracks
    • Bends
    • Stripped threads
    • Corrosion
    • Leaks
    • Replace the components as necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 236578  Size: SH
  1. Place the front exhaust pipe into position.
  2. Install the clamp to the transmission bracket.

  3. Object Number: 236579  Size: SH
  4. Install the clamp at the flexible pipe.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the nuts to the turbocharger.
  7. Tighten

    1. Tighten the front exhaust pipe nuts to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the bolts on the wide band clamp to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
    3. Tighten the nuts on the exhaust clamps to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

Exhaust Pipe Replacement Rear

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 213188  Size: SH
  1. Loosen the clamps on the flexible pipe.
  2. Remove the clamps at the muffler.

  3. Object Number: 213183  Size: SH
  4. Remove the rear exhaust pipe.
  5. Inspect all of the components for the following conditions:
  6. • Cracks
    • Bends
    • Stripped threads
    • Corrosion
    • Leaks
    • Replace the components as necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 213183  Size: SH
  1. Put the rear exhaust pipe into position.

  2. Object Number: 213188  Size: SH
  3. Install the clamp at the muffler.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
