Did you review the rear quarter window description and operation?

Verify that the rear quarter windows are inoperative.

Do the rear quarter windows operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Are both rear quarter windows inoperative?

Go to Retained Accessory Power (RAP) Inoperative in Computer/Integrating Systems

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the appropriate quarter glass switch.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Probe the retained accessory power (RAP) fuse supply voltage circuit of the quarter glass switch harness connector with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 10

Connect a test lamp between the RAP fuse supply voltage circuit of the quarter glass switch harness connector and the ground circuit of the quarter glass switch harness connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

  1. Disconnect the appropriate quarter glass actuator.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the appropriate power window motor rear vent open control circuit of the quarter glass actuator harness connector and the power window motor rear vent close control circuit of the quarter glass actuator harness connector.
  3. Activate the appropriate quarter glass switch to the Open and Close positions.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Test the appropriate power window motor rear vent control circuit for a short to ground or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Go to Step 14

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the inoperative rear quarter window actuator. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the rear quarter window switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the short to ground or open in the RAP fuse supply voltage circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the quarter glass switch ground circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the appropriate quarter glass actuator. Refer to Body Side Window Actuator Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Replace the appropriate quarter glass switch. Refer to Quarter Window Switch Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
