Important: Before attempting to diagnose the inclination sensor, ensure that the Inclination Sensor Part A and Part B are enabled in the Dash Integration Module (DIM) Set Options menu.

DEFINITION: After arming, the content theft deterrent (CTD) system does not enter alarm mode when one or more of the vehicle wheels are raised off of the ground.

Were you sent here from Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) Alarm Mode Inoperative?

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Disconnect the inclination sensor harness connector.
  3. Probe the inclination sensor battery positive voltage circuit at the inclination sensor harness connector with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

With a DMM, measure the voltage of the inclination sensor signal circuit at the inclination sensor harness connector.

Is the voltage near the specified value?

B+

Test the inclination sensor supply voltage circuit for a short to voltage, a short to ground, or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the inclination sensor signal circuit for an open or a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for a loose or poor connection at the harness connector of the inclination sensor. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the inclination sensor battery positive voltage circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
