Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 788768  Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the brake caliper assembly. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement .
  4. Inspect the brake caliper assembly. Refer to Brake Caliper Inspection .

  5. Object Number: 788397  Size: SH
  6. Remove the brake pads from the brake mounting bracket.

  7. Object Number: 777313  Size: SH
  8. Remove the brake caliper mounting bracket bolts. Lower bolt shown.

  9. Object Number: 748561  Size: SH
  10. Remove the brake caliper bracket.

  11. Object Number: 783127  Size: SH
  12. Remove the brake pad retaining clips from the bracket.

  13. Object Number: 788344  Size: SH
  14. Remove the guide pin bushing from the brake caliper bracket.
  15. Clean the brake caliper bracket with denatured alcohol.
  16. Dry the brake caliper bracket using non-lubricated, filtered air.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 788344  Size: SH
  1. Install the guide pin bushing on the brake caliper bracket.

  2. Object Number: 156329  Size: SH

    Important: Install the solid steel pin in the leading position and the rubber bushed pin in the trailing position.

  3. Install the guide pins in the brake caliper bracket.
  4. Apply high temperature silicone brake lubricant to the brake caliper guide pins. DO NOT apply lubricant to the brake pad hardware or retaining clips.

  5. Object Number: 748561  Size: SH
  6. Install the brake caliper bracket.
  7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 777313  Size: SH
  8. Install the brake caliper bracket bolts. Lower bolt shown.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 160 N·m (118 lb ft).

  10. Install the brake pad retaining clips to the brake caliper bracket.

  12. Install the brake caliper assembly. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement .
  13. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  14. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
