Rear License Plate Lamp Bulb Replacement Sedan

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
2. Open the rear compartment lid.




Important: The license plate lamp bulbs are located in the rear compartment lid.

3. For access to the license plate lamp bulbs, remove the rear compartment lid interior trim clip and position the trim aside.
4. Remove the license plate lamp bulb holder from the lamp body by rotating counterclockwise.
5. Pull the license plate light bulb from the holder socket.

1. Install a new license plate light bulb into the license plate lamp bulb holder socket and push the bulb into the socket.

Important: Check the condition of license plate bulb base seal and replace if necessary. The tabs on the bulb base and mating cut-outs in the lamp assembly allow the bulb to seat correctly in the lamp housing.

2. Install the license plate lamp bulb holder to the lamp body in the rear compartment lid and rotate clockwise to secure.
3. Check all vehicle lights for correct operation.



4. Install the rear compartment lid interior trim and secure with clip.
5. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
6. Close the rear compartment lid.

Rear License Plate Lamp Bulb Replacement Sportwagon

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
2. Remove the rear licence lamp assembly. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement.




Important: DO NOT pull on the wiring harness (1). Damage to the wiring harness (1) may result.

Important: Remove the rear license lamp bulb (3) from the rear license lamp bulb holder (2) by pulling the rear license lamp bulb (3) away from the rear license lamp bulb holder (2).

3. Remove the rear license lamp bulb (3) from the rear license lamp bulb holder (2).
4. Discard the rear license lamp bulb (3).

Important: DO NOT pull on the wiring harness (1). Damage to the wiring harness (1) may result.

Important: Install the NEW rear license bulb (3) to the rear license lamp bulb holder (2) by pushing the NEW rear license bulb (3) into the rear license lamp bulb holder (2).

1. Install the NEW rear license bulb (3) to the rear license lamp bulb holder (2).
2. Install the rear license lamp assembly. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement.
3. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
