J 38185   Hose Clamp Pliers

Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement




Important: Mark position of the heater outlet hose (3) and the heater outlet hose retaining clamp (1) before removal to make sure of correct alignment during assembly.

3. Using J 38185 compress the heater outlet hose retaining clamp (1) and slide 50 mm (2 in) along the heater outlet hose (3).
4. Disconnect the heater outlet hose (3) from the heater core pipe (2).



5. Detach the heater hose (1) quick connect fitting by releasing the retaining clip (3) with a suitable tool, from the heater pipe (2).



6. Remove the heater outlet hose (1) from the heater outlet pipe (2).

Caution: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in the Preface section.

1. Install the heater inlet hose.




Important: Listen for an audible click to confirm fitting.

2. Connect the heater outlet hose (1) to the heater outlet pipe (2).



3. Connect the heater outlet hose (3) to the heater core pipe (2).
4. Using J 38185 slide the heater outlet hose retaining clamp (1) back into the original position on the heater outlet hose (3).
5. Refit the right side engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement
6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
