J 38185   Hose Clamp Pliers

Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement




Important: Mark position of the heater inlet hose (3) and the heater inlet hose retaining clamp (1) before removal to make sure of correct alignment during assembly.

3. Using J 38185 slide the heater inlet hose retaining clamp (1) and slide 50 mm (2 in) along the heater inlet hose (3).
4. Disconnect the heater inlet hose (3) from the heater core pipe (2).



5. Detach the heater inlet hose quick connect fitting by releasing the retaining clip (1) with a suitable tool, from the heater pipe (2).



6. Disconnect the heater inlet hose (1) from the heater inlet pipe (2).

Caution: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in the Preface section.

1. Install the heater inlet hose.




Important: Listen for an audible click to confirm fitting.

2. Connect the heater inlet hose (1) to the heater inlet pipe (2).



3. Connect the heater inlet hose (3) to the heater core pipe (2).
4. Using J 38185 slide the heater inlet hose retaining clamp (1) back into the original position on the heater inlet hose (3).
5. Refit the right side engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement
6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
