Rear Wheelhouse Inner Panel Front Sound Barrier Replacement Sedan

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement.
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement.
  3. Remove the seat belt lower retaining bolt. Refer to Front Seat Belt Replacement.
  4. Remove the lower quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Replacement.

  5. Object Number: 1939805  Size: SH
  6. Remove the wheelhouse sound barriers (1) by peeling back from the wheel house panel (2).

Installation Procedure

    Caution: All floor pan insulator material must meet Federal Vehicle Safety Standards for flammability. Failure to do so could result in personal injury and/or vehicle damage.

    Important: Align the sound barriers in order to keep the seat belt and seat attachment areas are clear.

  1. Ensure the attachment areas are clear.
  2. Remove the backing of the sound barriers.

  3. Object Number: 1939765  Size: SH
  4. Press firmly in all areas in order to secure the sound barriers (1) to the wheelhouse panel (2).
  5. Install the lower quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Replacement.
  6. Install the seat belt lower retaining bolt. Refer to Front Seat Belt Replacement.
  7. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement.
  8. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement.

Removal Procedure

    Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  1. Install a suitable liftgate brace to the vehicle.
  2. Remove the rear end trim finish panel. Refer to Rear End Trim Finish Panel Replacement.
  3. Remove the rear compartment floor panel carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement.
  4. Remove the load floor stationary panel carpet. Refer to Load Floor Stationary Panel Carpet Replacement.
  5. Remove the load floor front panel carpet. Refer to Load Floor Front Panel Carpet Replacement.
  6. Remove the quarter inner trim finish panel. Refer to Quarter Inner Trim Finish Panel Replacement.

  7. Object Number: 2101978  Size: SH
  8. Remove the wheelhouse sound barriers  (1) from the wheelhouse panels  (2).

Installation Procedure

    Important: Align the sound barriers in order to keep the seat belt and seat attachment areas clear.

  1. Ensure the attachment areas are clear.

  2. Object Number: 2101979  Size: SH
  3. Install the sound barriers (1) to the wheelhouse panels  (2).
  4. Install the quarter inner trim finish panel. Refer to Quarter Inner Trim Finish Panel Replacement.
  5. Install the load floor front panel carpet. Refer to Load Floor Front Panel Carpet Replacement.
  6. Install the load floor stationary panel carpet. Refer to Load Floor Stationary Panel Carpet Replacement.
  7. Install the rear compartment floor panel carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement.
  8. Install the rear end trim finish panel. Refer to Rear End Trim Finish Panel Replacement.
  9. Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  10. Remove the suitable liftgate brace from the vehicle.
