Draining Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Clean away any dirt and debris from around the transmission fluid drain plug (3) area.
- Position an appropriate container below the transmission drain plug.
- Remove the transmission fluid drain plug (3) and washer (2) and discard.
- Allow the transmission fluid to drain into the container.
- Install a NEW sealing washer (2) to the transmission drain plug.
- Install the transmission drain plug (1) to the transmission.
- Remove the container used to catch the used transmission fluid from under the vehicle.
Caution: Refer to Protective Goggles and Glove Caution in the Preface section.
Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.
Discard the washer.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Tighten
Tighten the drain plug to 37 N·m (27 lb ft).
Filling Procedure
- Clean away any dirt and debris from the transmission fluid fill plug (1) area.
- Remove the transmission fluid fill plug (1) and washer (2) and discard.
- Fill the transmission to just below the bottom of the fill plug hole with the recommended fluid. Refer to Lubrication Specifications.
- Install a NEW sealing washer (2) to the transmission fill plug.
- Install the transmission fill plug (1) to the transmission.
Discard the washer.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Tighten
Tighten the fill plug to 37 N·m (27 lb ft).
