J 44827 Transmission Cooler Quick Disconnect

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 1957881  Size: SH
  4. Place an oil drain pan under the transmission fluid cooler pipes (1&2) near the radiator.

  5. Object Number: 104740  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler pipes from the transmission fluid cooler by using the J 44827 .

  7. Object Number: 1955690  Size: SH
  8. Remove the transmission fluid cooler pipes bracket retaining bolt.

  9. Object Number: 1955741  Size: SH
  10. Remove the transmission fluid cooler pipes retaining bolt.
  11. Remove the transmission fluid cooler pipes.
  12. Remove and discard the O-rings. Do not reuse the O-rings.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1955690  Size: SH
  1. Install the transmission fluid cooler pipe.

  2. Object Number: 1957881  Size: SH
  3. Connect the transmission fluid cooler pipes (1&2) to the transmission fluid cooler using the following steps:
  4. 2.1. Push the transmission fluid cooler pipes into the quick connect fitting, until a "audible click" is heard.
    2.2. Tug gently on the transmission cooler pipes to make sure the trans cooler pipes are fully connected.

  5. Install NEW sealing washers over the transmission fluid cooler pipes.
  6. Install the transmission fluid cooler pipes into the transmission.
  7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Install the transmission fluid cooler pipe retaining bolt.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the transmission fluid cooler pipe retainer bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb. ft).

  10. Install the transmission fluid cooler pipes bracket retaining bolt.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the transmission fluid cooler pipes bracket bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb. ft).

  12. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14. Inspect the transmission fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
  15. Inspect for fluid leaks.
