Electronic Suspension Control Module Replacement HSV

Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

    2. Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
  3. Remove the right closeout insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side.
  4. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement.
  5. Remove the instrument panel retainer. Refer to Instrument Panel Retainer Replacement.
  6. Remove the accelerator pedal. Refer to Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Replacement.

    7. Object Number: 1962715 Size: SH
  7. Remove the ESC module to body side sheetmetal retainer screw (1) from the ESC bracket (2) and body side sheetmetal (3).

    8. Object Number: 1962714 Size: SH
  8. Dislocate the ESC module and bracket (2) away from the body side sheetmetal (4) in an counterclockwise to disengage the retention clips (3) on the back side of the ESC module and bracket (2).
  9. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the ESC module (2).
  10. Remove the ESC module and bracket (2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1962714 Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the ESC module (2).
  2. Mount the ESC module and bracket (2) into the original position via a clockwise motion engaging the retention clips (3) into the body side sheetmetal (4).

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the ESC module retainer screw (1) through the ESC bracket (2) and body side sheetmetal (3).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 5 Nm (44 lb in).

  4. Install the accelerator pedal. Refer to Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Replacement.
  5. Install the instrument panel retainer. Refer to Instrument Panel Retainer Replacement.
  6. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement.
  7. Install the right closeout insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side.

    8. Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
  9. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  10. Test the ESC System. Refer to Diagnostic Starting Point - Electronic Suspension Control.
