Rear Compartment Courtesy Lamp Replacement Sedan

1. Open rear compartment lid.

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.



3. Remove the rear compartment lamp (2) by prizing the lamp from the rear shelf (1).
4. Bend back the lever contact that holds the bulb and remove the bulb from the lamp assembly.

1. Install a new bulb to the rear compartment lamp housing (2).
2. Install the rear compartment lamp housing (2) by pushing wiring and connector of lamp into the rear shelf (1) cavity. Snap lamp into position.
3. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
4. Check all vehicle lights for correct operation.
5. Close the rear compartment lid.

Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

1. Install a suitable liftgate brace to the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection



3. Using a suitable tool, pry the rear compartment courtesy lamp (1) from the quarter inner trim finish panel (2).



4. Disconnect the rear compartment courtesy lamp electrical connector (3) from the rear compartment courtesy lamp assembly (1).
5. Remove the rear compartment courtesy lamp bulb (2) from the rear compartment courtesy lamp assembly (1).

1. Install the rear compartment courtesy lamp bulb (2) into the rear compartment courtesy lamp assembly (1).
2. Connect the rear compartment courtesy lamp electrical connector (3) to the rear compartment courtesy lamp assembly (1).



3. Install the rear compartment courtesy lamp assembly (1) into the quarter inner trim finish panel (2).
4. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

5. Remove the suitable liftgate brace from the vehicle.
6. Check the operation of the rear compartment courtesy lamp.
