Circuit/System Description

With the ignition in either the ACC or ON positions, the DVD player, rear seat entertainment (RSE) control panel and rear seat entertainment interface module receives an individual 12V power supply. The DVD player and RSE control panel power supply is distributed via the rear seat entertainment interface module.

Conditions for Running the DTC

    • The rear seat entertainment is ON.
    • Battery voltage must be between 9-16 volts.

Conditions for Setting the DTCs

B1325 03, B1325 07

    • DTC B1325 03 will set to indicate the B+ positive supplied to the DVD Player is below the threshold.
    • DTC B1325 07 will set to indicate the B+ positive supplied to the DVD Player is above the threshold.

B1330 03, B1330 07

    • DTC B1330 03 will set to indicate the B+ positive supplied to the RSE control panel is below the threshold.
    • DTC B1330 07 will set to indicate the B+ positive supplied to the RSE control panel is above the threshold.

B1423 03, B1423 07

    • DTC B1423 03 will set to indicate the B+ positive supplied to the rear seat entertainment interface module is below the threshold.
    • DTC B1423 07 will set to indicate the B+ positive supplied to the rear seat entertainment interface module is above the threshold.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

B1325 03, B1325 07

When DTC B1325 03 or DTC B1325 07 are set, the DVD player will not turn ON.

B1330 03, B1330 07

When DTC B1330 03 or DTC B1330 07 are set, the video disc player control will not turn ON.

B1423 03, B1423 07

When DTC B1423 03 or DTC B1423 07 are set, the DVD player and video disc player control will not turn ON.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present.
    • The history DTC will clear after 50 fault-free ignition cycles.

Diagnostic Aids

The DVD player and RSE control panel power supply is distributed via the rear seat entertainment interface module. DTC B1325 03 or DTC B1330 03 could set concurrently with DTC B1423 03 as a result of the B+ positive supplied to the rear seat entertainment interface module being below the threshold. DTC B1325 07 or DTC B1330 07 could set concurrently with DTC B1423 07 as a result of the B+ positive supplied to the rear seat entertainment interface module being above the threshold. In the event of these DTCs setting together either DTC B1423 03 or DTC B1423 07 should be diagnosed first. If either DTC B1423 03 or DTC B1423 07 is not set it would suggest that the fault exists after the rear seat entertainment interface module and is within either of the B+ positive supplies to the DVD player or video disc player control or a fault within one of these components.

Circuit/System Testing

B1423 03, B1423 07

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the rear seat entertainment interface module harness connector.
  2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 3 Ω between the ground circuit at the rear seat entertainment interface module harness connector and a ground.
  3. If greater than the specified range, test the circuti for an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition ON, test for B+ between the battery positive voltage circuit at the rear seat entertainment interface module harness connector and a ground.
  5. If not within specified range, test the circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  6. If all circuits test normal, replace the Audio/Video Interface Module.

B1325 03, B1325 07

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the DVD player harness connector.
  2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 3 Ω between the ground circuit at the DVD player harness connector and a ground.
  3. If greater than the specified range, test the circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition ON, test for B+ between the battery positive voltage circuit at the DVD player harness connector and ground.
  5. If not within specified range, test the battery positive voltage circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal replace the rear seat entertainment interface module.
  6. If all circuits test normal, replace the DVD player.

B1330 03, B1330 07

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the Video Disc Player Control harness connector.
  2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 3 Ω between the ground circuit at the rear seat entertainment interface module harness connector and a ground.
  3. If greater than the specified range, test the circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition ON, test for B+ between the battery positive voltage circuit at the Video Disc Player Control harness connector and ground.
  5. If not within specified range, test the battery positive voltage circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal replace the rear seat entertainment interface module.
  6. If all circuits test normal, replace the Video Disc Player Control.
