DTC C0760: Left Rear Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Fault

DTC C0765: Right Rear Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Fault

Diagnostic Fault Information

Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle prior to using this diagnostic procedure.

Circuit/System Description

The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) has four radio frequency transmitting pressure sensors inside the wheel/tire assemblies. As vehicle speed increases to above 40 km/h (25 mph) the sensors internal roll switch closes, which puts the sensors into drive mode. The sensors begin to transmit once every 60 seconds to the driver side antenna module. The data within this radio frequency transmission contains sensor identification, sensor mode, sensor status and tire pressure. Once vehicle speed is greater than 40 km/h (25 mph) the antenna module waits for all sensors to go into drive mode. If one or more sensors do not go into drive mode or do not transmit at all the driver side antenna module will set DTC C0750, C0755, C0760, or C0765.

Conditions for Running the DTC

    • The engine is running
    • Vehicle speed is at least 40 km/h (25 mph).

Conditions for Setting the DTC

Any given sensor stops transmitting for ten minutes.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

    • A DTC is stored in memory
    • The fault is displayed on the instrument panel cluster (IPC)
    • A warning tone is activated.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles
    • Use a scan tool to clear DTC.

Circuit/System Verification

  1. DTC C0750, C0755, C0760 or C0765 if more than one of these DTCs are set. Refer to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver and Theft Deterrent Module Programming and Setup .
  2. If the vehicle passes the Circuit/System Verification test, then operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that are captured in the Freeze Frame/Failure Records Data List.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. If any other DTCs are set diagnosis these first, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
  2. Ignition ON, observing the tire pressure monitor parameter on the scan tool, activate the transponder at appropriate wheel. The parameter status should change on the scan tool.
  3. If the scan tool parameter does not change replace the appropriate tire pressure monitor.
