Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Open the rear compartment lid.
  2. Install a suitable brace to the rear compartment lid.
  3. Remove the rear compartment floor carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement.
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  5. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
  6. Remove the rear bumper impact bar. Refer to Rear Bumper Impact Bar Replacement.
  7. Remove the rear muffler. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement - Left Side and Exhaust Muffler Replacement - Right Side.
  8. Remove the exhaust muffler heat shields. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Heat Shield Replacement - Left Side and Exhaust Muffler Heat Shield Replacement - Right Side.

  9. Object Number: 1937485  Size: SH
  10. Remove the rear bumper bracket to rear compartment floor retaining bolts (1).
  11. Remove the rear bumper bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1937485  Size: SH
  1. Verify that the plastic retainers are secure to the rear quarter panel.
  2. Install the rear bumper bracket to rear compartment floor.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the rear bumper bracket to rear compartment floor retaining bolts (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).

  6. Install the exhaust muffler heat shields. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Heat Shield Replacement - Left Side and Exhaust Muffler Heat Shield Replacement - Right Side.
  7. Install the rear muffler. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement - Left Side and Exhaust Muffler Replacement - Right Side.
  8. Install the rear bumper impact bar. Refer to Rear Bumper Impact Bar Replacement.
  9. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Install the rear compartment floor carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement.
  12. Remove the suitable brace from the rear compartment lid.
  13. Close the rear compartment lid.
