Removal Procedure

    Important:  When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  1. Support the rear compartment lid with a suitable brace.
  2. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear compartment side trim (right) panel. Refer to Rear Corner Trim Panel Carpet Replacement .
  4. Remove the rear compartment lid lock actuator. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Lock Actuator Replacement .

    5. Object Number: 1937280 Size: SH
  5. Remove the rear compartment lid release cable to rear seat back panel retaining screw (1)

    6. Object Number: 1937294 Size: SH
  6. Remove the rear compartment lid release cable to rear compartment retaining clips (1).
  7. Remove the rear compartment lid release cable (2) from the rear compartment.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1937294 Size: SH
  1. Position the rear compartment lid release cable (2) in the rear compartment.
  2. Install the rear compartment lid release cable to rear compartment retaining clips (2).

    3. Object Number: 1937280 Size: SH
  3. Install the rear compartment lid release cable to rear seat back panel retaining screw (1).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  4. Install the rear compartment lid lock actuator. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Lock Actuator Replacement .
  5. If re-programming is required. Refer to Control Module References .
  6. Install the rear compartment side trim (right) panel. Refer to Rear Corner Trim Panel Carpet Replacement .
  7. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement .
  8. Remove the suitable brace from the vehicle.
