Circuit/System Description

The electronic brake control module (EBCM) performs several self-tests for internal concerns which may affect correct operation. The EBCM controls valve function by grounding the solenoid circuit when necessary.

Conditions for Running the DTC

    • The ignition is ON.
    • The vehicle is moving.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

A short to voltage, open or ground is detected at the solenoids within the brake modulator assembly.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

DTC C0060 00 - C0095 00

    • The EBCM disables the Antilock Brake System (ABS)/Traction Control System (TCS)/Electronic Stability Control (ESP)/Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) for the duration of the ignition cycle.
    • The multi function display (MFD) displays the ABS Fault message.
    • The multi function display (MFD) displays the Traction Ctrl Off message.
    • The multi function display (MFD) displays the Stability Ctrl Off message.
    • The red BRAKE Warning indicator turns ON.

DTC C0100 00 - C0105 00

    • The EBCM disables the Antilock Brake System (ABS)/Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) for the duration of the ignition cycle.
    • The multi function display (MFD) displays the ABS Fault message.
    • The red BRAKE Warning indicator turns ON.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present.
    • The EBCM automatically clears the history DTC when a current DTC is not detected in 100 consecutive drive cycles.
    • The DTC can be cleared using a scan tool.

Diagnostic Aids

The EBCM should be replaced if any of these DTCs continue to set intermittently.

Circuit/System Verification

Using a scan tool, clear current DTCs.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Start the engine and allow to idle, using a scan tool check if DTC is set to current.
  2. If the DTC is set to current, replace the EBCM.

Repair Instructions

    • Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
