DTC Descriptor

DTC B3926: Screen 1 Theft Locked

DTC B3927: Screen 2 Theft Locked

Circuit/System Description

The DVD screen and rear seat entertainment interface module communicate with each other to verify that a security code relayed between the two components is valid. The DTC will pass when the both components acknowledge a matching code.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

    • The RSE system transitions from OFF to ON. This may be in response to the RSE system power switch or an ignition key cycle.
    • This DTCs will set when there is a security code mismatch.
    • Battery voltage must be between 9-16 volts.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The system will enter the Theft Detected Mode.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present.
    • The history DTC will clear after 50 fault-free ignition cycles.
    • The DTC can be cleared using a scan tool.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Verify that DTC B3926 or B3927 is set to current.
  2. If DTC B3926 or B3927 is set to current and "Security Error" is displayed on the screen attempt DVD screen to rear seat entertainment interface module auto-learn procedure.
  3. RSE system OFF, ignition OFF, wait for 30 seconds.
  4. Ignition ON, RSE system ON, select the DVD function for the system, verify that DVD screen functions correctly.
  5. If the RSE system fails to function correctly, replace the appropriate DVD screen.
