Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement SWB

Important:  When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Support the rear compartment lid with a suitable brace.
3. Remove the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement.



4. Starting from the outer edges, slowly disengage the rear compartment lid applique retaining clips (1) and discard.

Discard the retaining clips.

5. Remove the rear compartment lid applique from the rear compartment lid.
6. Remove any remaining adhesive from the rear compartment lid applique and clean the surface with a suitable cleaning solution, using a lint free cloth.

Important: Use spec HN2021 type 13A and HN2021 type 6.

Important: Do not allow the adhesive tape to come in contact with any dirt or foreign matter.




1. If reusing the rear compartment lid applique, clean the rear compartment lid applique with a suitable cleaning solution, using a lint free cloth.

1.1.	Apply the double sided tape HN2021 type 13A (2) to the outer edges of the rear compartment lid applique.

1.2.	Trim back the double sided tape to the outer edges of the rear compartment lid applique.

1.3.	Apply the double sided tape HN2021 type 6 (1) to the centre of the rear compartment lid applique.

1.4.	Trim back the double sided tape to the centre of the rear compartment lid applique.




2. Install the NEW rear compartment lid applique retaining clips (1) to the rear compartment lid applique.



3. Install the rear compartment lid applique by starting from the centre retaining clip (1) to the rear compartment lid.
4. Make sure that the rear compartment lid applique retaining clips (2) are installed to the rear compartment lid.
5. Firmly press the rear compartment lid applique into place by starting from the centre of the rear compartment lid applique and working towards the outer edges, to prevent trapped air behind the adhesive.
6. Install the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement.
7. Remove the suitable brace from the rear compartment lid.
8. Close the rear compartment lid.

Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement LWB

1. Support the rear compartment lid with a suitable brace.



2. Remove the rear compartment lid moulding to rear compartment lid retaining nuts (3).
3. Use a suitable tool to carefully pry the rear compartment lid moulding  (1) from the rear compartment lid.

Important: The rear compartment lid moulding retaining clips are a single use part.

4. Remove the rear compartment lid retaining clips (2) from the rear compartment lid moulding (1) and discard.

Discard the retaining clips.

1. Install NEW rear compartment lid retaining clips (2) to the rear compartment lid moulding (1).



2. Align the rear compartment lid moulding datum pin (2) to the rear compartment lid datum hole (1).
3. Firmly press the rear compartment lid moulding to the compartment lid rear.



4. Install the rear compartment lid moulding (1) to rear compartment lid retaining nuts (2).

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

5. Remove the suitable brace from the vehicle.
