Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1289410  Size: SH
  1. Relieve the coolant system pressure.
  2. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4. Notice: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

  5. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector.
  6. Carefully remove the ECT sensor from the cylinder head underneath the electronic ignition (EI) system ignition coil.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1289410  Size: SH

    Notice: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

  1. Coat the threads on the ECT sensor with sealer.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the ECT sensor into the cylinder head.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the coolant temperature sensor to 17.5 N·m (13 lb ft).

  5. Connect the ECT sensor connector.
  6. Fill the cooling system.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
