Battery Tray Replacement Diesel Engine

1. Remove the battery from the battery tray. Refer to Battery Replacement .



2. Remove the fuel filter assembly. Refer to Fuel Filter Replacement.



3. Remove the engine fuse block.



4. Remove the engine control module (ECM). Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement.
5. Check the battery tray for obvious cracks or damage.



6. Remove the glow plug fuse box.
7. Remove the glow plug control unit.



8. Remove the battery tray upper bolts.



9. Remove the battery tray retaining bolts.
10. Remove the battery tray.

1. Install the battery tray.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

2. Install the battery tray lower retaining bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the battery tray bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).




3. Install the battery tray upper retaining bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the battery tray bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).




4. Install the glow plug control unit.
5. Install the glow plug fuse block.



6. Install the ECM. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement.



7. Install the engine fuse block.



8. Install the fuel filter assembly. Refer to Fuel Filter Replacement.



9. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement.
