Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement.
  3. Support the transmission with a suitable jack.
  4. Remove the transmission support. Refer to Transmission Support Replacement.
  5. Remove the transmission mount. Refer to Transmission Rear Mount Replacement.

    6. Object Number: 1957011 Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the reverse lockout solenoid electrical connector (3).
  7. Remove the reverse lockout solenoid to transmission extension housing retaining screw (2).
  8. Remove the reverse lockout solenoid (1) from the transmission extension housing.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1957013 Size: SH
  1. Inspect the reverse lockout assembly O-ring (1). Replace the reverse lockout assembly O-ring if necessary.

    2. Object Number: 1957011 Size: SH
  2. Install the reverse lockout solenoid (3) to the transmission extension housing.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the reverse lockout solenoid to transmission extension housing retaining bolt (2).
  4. Connect the reverse lockout solenoid electrical connector.
  5. Install the transmission mount. Refer to Transmission Rear Mount Replacement.
  6. Install the transmission support. Refer to Transmission Support Replacement.
  7. Remove the transmission jack.
  8. Install the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
