For 1990-2009 cars only
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Clean any dirt from around the transmission fill plug (1).
- Remove the transmission fill plug (1).
- Allow excess fluid to drain until flow stops. If required, top up fluid level until it does flow out of the transmission fill plug.
- Install the transmission fill plug (1).
- Lower the vehicle.

Important: This transmission is classified as being a "Fill for Life" transmission and checking the lubricant level is not recommended. The only time that fluid level checking would be appropriate, would be after correction of a fluid leak that did not require the transmission to be fully drained and/or removed from the vehicle.

Tighten
Tighten the plug to 28 N·m (20 lb ft).
