J 39400 Halogen Leak Tester

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  2. Object Number: 1955653  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector (2).

  4. Object Number: 1955655  Size: SH

    Important: A Schrader valve is fitted to the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor port (1). Upon removal of the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (3) you will, for a very short period, hear refrigerant escape until the Schrader valve reseats. If refrigerant continues to escape while removing the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (3) STOP IMMEDIATELY. The Schrader valve has a fault and the refrigerant will have to be recovered.

  5. Remove the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (3) from the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor port (1).
  6. Important: The O-ring seal  (2) is a single use item and must be discarded after use.

  7. Remove the O-ring seal (2). Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  8. Discard the O-ring seal.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1955655  Size: SH
  1. Install the NEW O-ring seal (2). Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor to the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor port (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the sensor to 6 N·m(53 lb ft).

  5. Connect the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector (1).
  6. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
  7. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400 .
