GM Service Manual Online
For 1990-2009 cars only

Engineering Mode enables some instrument identification and current status information to be displayed on the Mutli-function Display (MFD). It also provides an Instrument Self Test function. Engineering mode is entered, by switching the ignition on while pressing the ENTER button.

Engineering Mode is exited by switching off the ignition or pressing the TRIP button.

While in Engineering Mode, if one or more warnings occur they will interrupt the current display.

After all warnings have been acknowledged with the ENTER button, the previous Diagnostic Display screen is restored. Minimised Warning icons will not be shown whilst Engineering Mode is active.
