Removal Procedure

    Important: The wheel bearing in the rear wheel hub is integrated into one unit. The hub is non-serviceable. If the hub and/or bearing is damaged, replace the complete hub and bearing assembly.

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 305363  Size: SH
  5. Remove the ABS electrical connector from the wheel speed sensor (1), if equipped.
  6. Remove the mounting bolts from the rear bearing/hub (4).

  7. Object Number: 1228560  Size: SH
  8. Remove the wheel bearing/hub (3) and the backing plate (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1228560  Size: SH
  1. Install the backing plate (2) and the wheel bearing hub (3).
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the wheel bearing/hub-to-knuckle bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).

  5. Install the ABS electrical connector to the wheel speed sensor  (1), if equipped.
  6. Install the brake rotor and caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement .
  7. Install the tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  8. Lower the vehicle.
