    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the exhaust manifold studs.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust manifold studs to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the exhaust manifold gasket.
  4. Install the exhaust manifold.
  5. Install the exhaust manifold bolts and nuts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts and nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Install the left side spark plugs.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the spark plugs to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  9. Install the left engine lift hook.
  10. Install the left engine lift hook nut and bolt.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the left engine lift hook nut and bolt to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  12. Install the engine mount strut lower bracket.
  13. Install the engine mount strut lower bracket nut and bolts.
  14. Tighten

        • Tighten the engine mount strut lower bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
        • Tighten the engine mount strut lower bracket nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft)

  15. Install the left exhaust manifold heat shield.
  16. Install the left exhaust manifold heat shield nuts.
  17. Tighten
    Tighten the left exhaust manifold heat shield nuts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
