Removal Procedure

  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Remove the liftgate sill plate. Refer to Liftgate Door Sill Plate Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 1502064  Size: SH
  4. Pull the liftgate weatherstrip from the liftgate opening.
  5. Clean all adhesive from the liftgate opening pinch-weld flange.

Installation Procedure

    Important: A mastic/sealer/glue is inside of new liftgate weatherstrips. If a new weatherstrip in being installed, weatherstrip adhesive should not be used.

    If the liftgate weatherstrip is reused, weatherstrip adhesive should be used.

  1. Apply new liftgate weatherstrip sealing strip to pinch-weld flange, if required.

  2. Object Number: 1502064  Size: SH
  3. Align the blue dot on the liftgate weatherstrip to top center of the liftgate opening pinch-weld flange.
  4. Align the white dots on the liftgate weather-strip to the top corners of the liftgate opening pinch-weld flange.
  5. Starting at the top center of the liftgate opening pinch-weld flange and working towards the bottom center, being careful not to stretch the liftgate weatherstrip while installing it.
  6. Align bottom center cutout in weatherstrip to the liftgate striker.
  7. Use a rubber mallet to ensure full engagement of the liftgate weatherstrip to the pinch-weld flange.
  8. Pull the tear strip at the liftgate body wedge around the entire length of liftgate opening to remove.
  9. • Removal of the tear strip should pull the inner lip of the liftgate weatherstrip out over the interior trim. Spooning of the liftgate weatherstrip may be required to complete the installation of the liftgate weatherstrip.
    • Spooning of the reused liftgate weatherstrip will be required to complete the placement of the liftgate weatherstrip.
  10. Install the liftgate sill plate. Refer to Liftgate Door Sill Plate Replacement .
  11. Close the liftgate.
