LUGGAGE RACK - NUT WHICH PROVIDES BETTER SLAT RETENTION

IN 1982 THE WELL NUT, PART NUMBER 1622920 WAS USED TO RETAIN THE LUGGAGE RACK SLATS IN ALL LOCATIONS EXCEPT THE TWO (2) REAR OUTBOARD LOCATIONS WHICH REQUIRED PART NUMBER 1623436. IF IT SHOULD BE NECESSARY TO REPLACE WELL NUTS, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU USE PART NUMBER 1623436 WHICH WILL PROVIDE BETTER SLAT RETENTION. THIS NUT COLLAPSES STEEL LEGS TO PROVIDE THE INTERFERENCE FIT. THE PLASTIC COATING ON THIS NUT SHOULD BE PIERCED AND THE NUT COLLAPSED PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE SLAT.
