BINDING AT DOOR GUIDE PINS REPLACE DOOR PIN/LOCATOR ASSY.

SUBJECT: INTERMITTENT BINDING AT DOOR GUIDE PIN (REPLACE DOOR PIN GUIDE AND LOCATOR ASSEMBLY)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1990 "E" MODEL

Some 1990 Reatta convertibles may demonstrate a binding condition at the door guide pin. This may occur due to excess wear on the end of the guide pin where it seats in the guide pin locator.

The above condition can be corrected by replacing the door pin guide and locator assembly. Refer to Service Information Manual page 10-6-11, Figure 22.

Replace the original guide pin with the revised 1991 door guide pin (right P/N 3530386 and left P/N 3530387). Replace the guide pin locator with the revised 1991 locator (P/N 3527433 for right and left). These parts are in use on 1991 Reatta convertibles. Lubricate the pin with "Lubriplate 100," or equivalent. Do not use grease.

Use the most applicable Labour Operation and Time from the Canadian Labour Time Guide.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
