LOOSE CENTER CAPS TIGHTEN RETAINER SCREWS

MODELS AFFECTED: 1989 RIVIERAS

Some 1989 Buick Rivieras equipped with aluminum wheels may experience a condition of loose and/or noisy center caps. This condition may be caused by one or more retainer screws being loose. To repair this condition use the following procedure:

1. Remove center cap(s).

2. Apply Loctite 301, or equivalent, to all five retaining screws and tighten to 2.7 N.m (2 ft. lbs.).

3. Install center caps and verify proper operation.

If the retainers cannot be properly tightened, the center cap should be replaced.
