CRUISE CONTROL TRANSDUCER SERV USE AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTERS

THERE HAVE BEEN INSTANCES WHERE UNAUTHORIZED INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOPS HAVE FURNISHED REBUILT TRANSDUCERS TO GM DEALERS THAT DID NOT MEET THE DESIGN PARAMETERS ESTABLISHED BY GENERAL MOTORS. TO ASSURE QUALITY SERVICE, THE AUTHORIZED AC-DELCO SERVICE CENTERS LISTED IN THIS BULLETIN HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE SERVICE BY FACTORY TRAINED TECHNICIANS USING THE LATEST TECHNICAL INFORMATION, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT. AS ILLUSTRATED BELOW, AC-DELCO SERVICE CENTERS ARE REQUIRED TO IDENTIFY EACH TRANSDUCER THEY SERVICE BY METAL STAMPING THEIR SERVICE CENTER CODE AND DATE OF REPAIR ON EACH UNIT. TO ENSURE PROPER APPLICATION INFORMATION, A PART NUMBER IDENTIFICATION LABEL IS ALSO APPLIED TO EACH UNIT SERVICED. ONLY TRANSDUCERS SO IDENTIFIED ARE TO BE USED FOR FIELD SERVICE. ** ILLUSTRATION **

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
