Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1640833 Size: SH
  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  2. Remove the engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Left Side and Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right Side .
  3. Remove the catalytic converter . Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement .
  4. Remove the right front wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  5. Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement .
  6. Remove the engine mount lower nuts.

    7. Notice: In order to avoid oil pan damage and possible engine failure, insert a block of wood that spans the width of the oil pan bottom between the oil pan and the jack support.

  7. Place an adjustable jack stand and a block of wood under the engine.

  8. Remove the engine mount bracket bolts, if equipped with front wheel drive (FWD).

    9. Object Number: 1640831 Size: SH
  9. Remove the engine mount bracket bolts, if equipped with all wheel drive (AWD).
  10. Using the adjustable jack and block of wood, raise the engine until the engine mount/bracket can be removed.
  11. Remove the engine mount/bracket.

  12. Remove the engine mount bracket nuts, if equipped with FWD.
  13. Remove the engine mount bracket.

    14. Object Number: 1640828 Size: SH
  14. Remove the engine mount bracket nuts, if equipped with AWD.
  15. Remove the engine mount bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1640828 Size: SH
  1. Install the engine mount bracket, if equipped with AWD.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the engine mount bracket nuts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the engine mount bracket, if equipped with FWD.
  4. Install the engine mount bracket nuts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1640831 Size: SH
  5. Install the engine mount/bracket.
  6. Install the engine mount bracket bolts, if equipped with AWD.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).

  7. Install the engine mount bracket bolts, if equipped with FWD.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).

  8. Using the adjustable jack and block of wood, lower the engine until the engine mount/bracket is seated properly in the cradle.

  9. Install the engine mount lower nuts.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  10. Install the right engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement .
  11. Install the right front wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  12. Install the catalytic converter . Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement .
  13. Install the engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Left Side and Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right Side .
  14. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
