Removal Procedure
- Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System .
- Remove the center pillar lower trim. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
- Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the inflatable restraint side impact sensor yellow 2-way harness connector (4).
- Disconnect the inflatable restraint side impact sensor wiring harness connector (4).
- Loosen the two inflatable restraint side impact sensor fasteners (1).
- Remove the inflatable restraint side impact sensor (2) from the center pillar.
Installation Procedure
- Install the inflatable restraint side impact sensor (2) to the center pillar.
- Tighten the two inflatable restraint side impact sensor fasteners (1).
- Connect the inflatable restraint side impact sensor yellow 2-way harness connector (4).
- Install the CPA to the inflatable restraint side impact sensor yellow 2-way connector (4).
- Install the center pillar lower trim. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
