Assist Handle Replacement Aztek

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 620988  Size: SH
  1. Remove the upper center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the bolts from the assist handle.

  3. Object Number: 620991  Size: SH
  4. Remove the assist handle from the center pillar.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 620991  Size: SH
  1. Position the assist handle to the center pillar.

  2. Object Number: 620988  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts to the assist handle.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the assist handle bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the upper center trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement .

Assist Handle Replacement Rendezvous

Removal Procedure

  1. Pull down on the assist handle in order to expose the retaining screws (1).

  2. Object Number: 384877  Size: SH
  3. Remove the assist handle screws (1).
  4. Remove the assist handle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 384877  Size: SH
  1. Position the assist handle in the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the assist handle screws (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the assist handle screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
