Modes of Operation

Automatic Door Locks

The following are the modes of operation for the automatic door locks feature:

    • Mode 1:
        The automatic door locks feature is disabled.
    • Mode 2:
        All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition ON.
    • Mode 3:
        All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition ON. Only the driver door unlocks when the vehicle is shifted into PARK.
    • Mode 4: (Default)
        All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition ON. All of the doors unlock when the vehicle is shifted into PARK.
    • Mode 5:
        All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition ON. Only the driver door unlocks when the key is removed from the ignition with the vehicle in PARK.
    • Mode 6:
        All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition ON. All of the doors unlock when the key is removed from the ignition with the vehicle in PARK.

Delayed Locking

The following are the modes of operation for the delayed locking feature:

    • Mode 1:
        The delayed locking feature is disabled.
    • Mode 2: (Default)
        All of the doors lock five seconds after the last door is closed when the lock switch is activated.

Headlamp Exit Delay

The following are the modes of operation for the headlamp exit delay feature:

    • Mode 1:
        The headlamp exit delay feature is disabled.
    • Mode 2:
        A short illumination period is active for headlamp exit delay (15 seconds).
    • Mode 3: (Default)
        A medium illumination period is active for headlamp exit delay (30 seconds).
    • Mode 4:
        A long illumination period is active for headlamp exit delay (60 seconds).

Remote Activation Verification

The following are the modes of operation for the remote activation verification feature:

    • Mode 1: (Default)
        Feedback is disabled for both a remote lock and a remote unlock command.
    • Mode 2:
        The headlamps and the park lamps flash on both a remote lock and a remote unlock command.
    • Mode 3:
        The headlamps and the park lamps flash on both a remote lock and a remote unlock command. The horn chirps on the second remote lock command.

Remote Driver Door Unlock

The following are the modes of operation for the remote driver door unlock feature:

    • Mode 1:
        All of the doors unlock on the first remote unlock command.
    • Mode 2: (Default)
        Only the driver door unlocks on the first remote unlock command. The passenger door unlocks on the second remote unlock command. The remaining doors unlock on any subsequent remote unlock command.

Programming Features on Vehicles Without Keyless Entry (AUO)

Enter Programming

To enter the programming mode, perform the following actions:

  1. Turn the ignition to RUN.
  2. Place the vehicle in PARK.
  3. Ensure that the distance odometer is displayed, and that the trip odometer is not visible.
  4. Press and hold the TRIP/RESET button on the instrument panel for two seconds.
  5. The PROGRAM MODE illuminates on the I/P providing the status.

Automatic Door Locks

Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the automatic door locks:

  1. Press the power door lock switch. The vehicle will chime with the number of chimes corresponding to the current mode, see Automatic Door Locks modes above.
  2. Press the power door lock switch again in order to advance to the next mode. The vehicle will chime with the number of chimes corresponding to the mode.
  3. Continue to press the power door lock switch until the desired mode is reached.

Delayed Locking

Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the delayed locking feature:

  1. Press the power door unlock switch. The vehicle will chime with the number of chimes corresponding to the current mode,(see Delayed Locking modes above.
  2. Press the power door unlock switch again in order to advance to the next mode. The vehicle will chime with the number of chimes corresponding to the mode.
  3. Continue to press the power door unlock switch until the desired mode is reached.

Headlamp Exit Delay

Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the headlamp exit delay feature:

  1. Turn the park lamps ON. The vehicle will chime with the number of chimes corresponding to the current mode, see Headlamp Exit Delay modes above.
  2. Turn the park lamps OFF then back ON in order to advance to the next mode. The vehicle will chime with the number of chimes corresponding to the mode.
  3. Continue to cycle the park lamp switch until the desired mode is reached.

Exit Programming

Any of the following list of events will cause the programming sequence to be terminated:

    • The ignition is moved from the RUN position.
    • The vehicle is shifted out of PARK.
    • The TRIP/RESET button on the instrument panel is pressed.
    • The programming time expires.
