Did you perform the Body Rear End Diagnostic System Check?

Verify that the rear window release is inoperative.

Does the rear window release operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step  3

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool command the lift glass relay ON.

Does the lift glass open?

Go to Step  5

  1. Probe the lift glass release control circuit of the BCM C3 harness connector with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.
  2. With a scan tool command the lift glass relay ON.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 10

Is the lift glass inoperative from the lift window release switch?

Go to Step  6

  1. Disconnect the lift window release switch.
  2. Probe the lift window release switch signal circuit of the lift window release switch harness connector with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step  7

Connect a test lamp between the lift window release switch signal circuit of the lift window release switch harness connector and the ground circuit of the lift window release switch harness connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step  14

  1. Disconnect the endgate lock cylinder switch.
  2. Probe the liftgate release switch signal circuit of the endgate lock cylinder switch harness connector with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between the liftgate release switch signal circuit of the endgate lock cylinder switch harness connector and the ground circuit of the endgate lock cylinder switch harness connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test the lift window lock actuator ground circuit for an open. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
