Removal Procedure

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the left wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  4. Remove the left front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  5. Loosen the pinch clamp on the AIR exhaust pipe hose .

  6. Object Number: 529919  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the AIR exhaust hose from the AIR pump.
  8. Disconnect the AIR pump electrical connector.
  9. Remove the nuts securing the AIR pump bracket to the frame.
  10. Remove the AIR pump and the bracket as an assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Secure the AIR pump and the bracket to the frame mount with the nuts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  3. Connect the AIR pump electrical connector.
  4. Lightly lubricate the inner edge of the AIR exhaust hose.
  5. Attach the AIR exhaust hose to the AIR pump outlet port.
  6. Place the pinch clamp around the outlet port and/or exhaust hose connection.
  7. Install the left front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  8. Install the left wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
