The purpose of this bulletin is to introduce a new change for the 2001-2006 model year 4T65-E automatic transmissions.
Effective January 23, 2006 (Julian date 6023), the lube dam and bearing in the input carrier assembly has been changed to improve durability.
The 1st design lube dam must be used with the 1st design bearing.
Important: Early failure may occur due to incorrect lubrication, if parts are mixed.
The 2nd design lube dam is black in color and has 3 notches on each side of the dam (no orientation required).
The 2nd design bearing has no notches on the inner black race ID.
