Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Replacement w/o UV6

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the I/P assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  2. Object Number: 318081  Size: SH
  3. Pull the side window defogger ducts from the I/P carrier.
  4. Pull the side window defogger ducts from the defroster duct.
  5. Remove the side window defogger ducts from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 318081  Size: SH
  1. Align the side window defogger ducts onto the defroster duct and snap the ducts into place.
  2. Align the side window defogger ducts and snap the ducts into the I/P carrier.
  3. Install the I/P assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the I/P assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  2. Object Number: 655942  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the heads up display module electrical connector.
  4. Remove the bolts that secure the heads up display module to the I/P.
  5. Remove the heads up display module.

  6. Object Number: 318081  Size: SH
  7. Pull the side window defogger ducts from the I/P carrier.
  8. Pull the side window defogger ducts from the defroster duct.
  9. Remove the side window defogger ducts from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 318081  Size: SH
  1. Align the side window defogger ducts onto the defroster duct and snap the ducts into place.
  2. Align the side window defogger ducts and snap the ducts into the I/P carrier.

  3. Object Number: 655942  Size: SH
  4. Install the heads up display module.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the bolts that secure the heads up display module to the I/P.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  8. Connect the heads up display module electrical connector.
  9. Install the I/P assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
