Heater Outlet Hose Replacement LA1

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
2. Remove the wiper motor module assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster and reposition.
4. Remove the air cleaner cover and intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.4 L.

Important: Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables from the TBI mounting bracket to prevent bending the cable housings.

5. Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables.
6. Remove the transmission fluid filler tube. Refer to Transmission Fluid Filler Tube Replacement in Automatic Transaxle - 4T65-E.



7. Disconnect the outlet heater hose (3) from the outlet heater pipe (4) .



8. Disconnect the outlet heater hose clamp using the J 38185 .
9. Disconnect the outlet heater hose from the heater core.
10. Remove the outlet heater hose.

1. Install the outlet heater hose.



2. Connect the outlet heater hose to the heater core.
3. Connect the heater hose clamp using the J 38185 .



4. Connect the outlet heater hose (3) to the outlet heater pipe (4).
5. Install the transmission fluid filler tube. Refer to Transmission Fluid Filler Tube Replacement in Automatic Transaxle - 4T65-E.
6. Connect the throttle and cruise control cables to the TBI mounting bracket.
7. Install the air cleaner cover and intake tube. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.4 L.
8. Connect the vacuum hose to the brake booster.
9. Install the wiper motor module assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
10. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.

Heater Outlet Hose Replacement LY7

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
2. Remove the wiper motor module assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster and reposition the hose.
4. Disconnect the outlet heater hose from the outlet heater pipe.



5. Use J 38185 to disconnect the outlet heater hose clamp .
6. Disconnect the hose from the heater core.
7. Remove the hose.

1. Install the outlet heater hose.



2. Connect the hose to the heater core.
3. Use J 38185 to connect the heater hose clamp.
4. Connect the outlet heater hose to the outlet heater pipe.
5. Connect the vacuum hose to the brake booster.
6. Install the wiper motor module assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
